Shin Min carried an article on the revolution of lighting featuring the the designers and theirs works of Lightouch Design Competition. These designers included the winner for this competition, Caitlyn Sara MacKenzie from New Zealand, Liu Zhi Li from China, and a two-man team from Korea and local designers, Terrence Woon and Yap Hock Heng. Shin Min noted that Lightouch is an international competition looking for designs that are creative, functional and scalable, with winning works chosen from over 930 entries from 53 countries.

My Paper carried a feature on the results of Lightouch Design Competition featuring several designers and their works. These designers included the winner for this competition, Caitlyn Sara MacKenzie from New Zealand, special mention Liu Zhi Li from China, and a two-man team from Korea. Other works featured include local designers, Terrence Woon and Yap Hock Heng as well as a team from Italy and Vidal Solar Thomas from France.

Zaobao Now carried a feature on several designers and their works from the Lightouch Design Competition. These designers included the winner for this competition, Caitlyn Sara MacKenzie from New Zealand, Liu Zhi Li from China, a team from Italy and a two-man team from Korea. Liu and the Korean team received special mention at the competition. Local designer, Yun Tian Bao was also featured along with his work, "the way of light".

The Straits Times Life!. 14 July 2007
The Straits Times Life! featured the winner of the second LightTouch Design Competition on Thursday. Caitlyn Sara Mackenzie from New Zealand used one sheet of white paper for her winning entry, titled 1296. That piece of paper had 1,296 cuts on it. The Straits Times Life! also featured finalist Terence Woon from Singapore.

The results are in for Lightouch's Design Competition 2007, which drew 939 submissions from 53 different countries.
The seven finalists from China, France, Italy, Korea, New Zealand and Singapore attended a three-day prototyping workshop at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the mentorship of FLOS designer Mr. Joris Laarman. As part of the competition's last stage, the finalists were tasked to produce a final prototype of their winning ideas. Read More

A final-year student from New Zealand has won a competition in Singapore for best lighting design. Hers was picked out of 939 entries from around the world. 11 finalists were short-listed for the DesignSingapore competition. The designers were flown in from countries like China, USA and France, to create prototypes at a workshop held at the National University of Singapore. The judges took into account various criteria when judging the prototypes. Among them were the ease of making the product, its range of uses, and how well the lamp can fit into a home. Read More
Bright ideas LIGHT-MINDED: Innovative

TODAY carried an article on the Lightouch Design Competition organised by DesignSingapore Council and Italian lamp design company Flos. It will see 11 designers from six countries sharing their ideas on innovative lighting products. TODAY noted that seven prototype designs, by individuals and teams, were chosen from over 930 entries from 53 countries. All the finalists have been in Singapore since last week to finalise their designs for the competition, and two of them are from Singapore. TODAY reported that this is the second in a series of Lightouch contests, with the first one, in 2003, being a low key affair. The two Singaporean finalists, Terence Woon and Yap Hock Heng, were also interviewed on their creations. The grand prize winner will be flown to Milan for a tour of the Flos factory there. He or she may also get the chance to be signed up with the Italian company.
